Fish Molee is a pretty famous dish from the state of Kerala in India. You can make it in less than 30 minutes with minimal ingredients but tastes absolutely phenomenal. And THE ONE CURRY Masala Spice Blend makes it even easier.

If you are a seafood lover, especially a salmon lover then you should definitely try making this at home.

 

Serves - 4

Spice level - Mild

Ingredients:

Items quantity

 

Salmon Fillets
500 g
Onion sliced 1 large onion or  1 1/2 medium sized 250 g
Tomato sliced 1 or 150 g

The one curry

masala

1 tbsp / 15 g
Garlic fine chopped/grated 1/2 tbsp
Ginger fine chopped/grated 1/2 tbsp
Oil 3 tbsp
Coconut milk 1 can / 400 ml
Lemon 1 tbsp
Green Chili (optional)

3 numbers

Fresh Cilantro 

3 g

 

Preparation :

The Fry

  1. Mix 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp lemon juice 1 tsp black pepper and 1 tsp THE ONE CURRY in a small bowl and rub it all over the salmon and let it marinade for 15 minutes
  2. Add 4 tbsp of oil in a pan and shallow fry the salmon on medium flame for 3 - 5 minutes so you get a nice sear on all sides. take it out and set it aside

The Base:

  1. In the same pan add the onion and saute for 3 minutes on medium flame
  2. Add the grated ginger and garlic and saute for 2 minutes
  3. Add green chilis to the mix and give it a stir
  4. Now add half of the coconut milk to the pan and let it boil for 2 minutes on medium flame
  5. Add the sliced tomatoes to the stew.

The Masala:

  1. Add 1/2 tbsp of THE ONE CURRY and give it a mix.
  2. Add 1/2 tbsp black pepper(if you like it hot)
  3. Add 1/4 tbsp salt (adjust as per liking)
  4. And a squeeze of lemon juice

The Main:

  1. Now add the fried salmon to the mix without breaking them

The Simmering:

  1. Close the lid and let it simmer on low to medium flame for 10 minutes
  2. Open the lid and add the rest of the coconut milk and let it boil for another 3 minutes.
  3. Finish it off with some cilantro and/or curry leaves

Enjoy with Rice !!
